Fibrillated polyacrylonitrile fibre

It is obtained from acrylic homopolymer fibres, and becomes fibrillated after grinding. It has good reinforcement features. At low temperatures, it provides dimensional stability (after preforming). During its decomposition (at approximately 220 °C), the carbon contents increase. Basically, polyacrylonitrile fibres are used as precursors for carbon fibre.
