It is a medium temperature (200-250 °C) lubricant, and decreases both friction level and wear, but may increase fading. SYNTHETTIC GRAPHITE Synthetic graphite is a manufactured product made by high-temperature treatment of amorphous carbon materials. The primary feedstocks used for making synthetic graphite are calcined petroleum coke and coal tar pitch, both of which are composed of highly graphitizable forms of carbon.
